Sundance Romance

Mika was hanging out at a local restaurant with her friend Danny, when a cab pulled up outside. She couldn't help but notice the handsome man who got out of the cab and she thought to herself: 'This guy looks so smart.' She had no idea Danny and the man now walking into the restaurant was Eli, her future husband. He sat down at the table and Danny introduced Mika to Eli. There was an instant connection.

Eli proposed in Mexico, near his parent's home, overlooking an amazing view of the ocean on New Year's Eve 2010. A few days before this, Eli had said he ordered Mika a Christmas present that hadn't arrived yet. Before proposing, while they were enjoying the beautiful view of the ocean at sunset, he pulled out a book. He explained that this was the present that hadn't arrived. The book was 60 pages of all the pictures Eli had taken of the two of them since their first date. Mika hadn't even seen some of the photos yet, and she was very touched by the thoughtfulness of the gift. When they got to the last page, there was a photo of exactly where they were sitting at that very moment. The note under the photo read: "Let's spend New Year's together forever." Then Eli got down on one knee and asked Mika to be his wife.

Eli and Mika planned the wedding together and since their family is spread out throughout the country, they decided to have a destination wedding in Sundance, Utah, where they took their very first trip together. They wanted the wedding to have a rustic elegance feel with lots of romance, dim lighting and candles. They also wanted their guests to get to know them through their wedding.

Mika's dress was designed by Romona Keveza and was beautifully layered with flowing ruffles. Her bridal bouquet was created by a Divine-Occasion and included an assortment of romantic flowers in a lovely color palette of rose, soft yellow, green and white. Mika and Eli chose the Sundance Resort for their wedding and reception, which is not only a special place for the couple, but is also beautiful, relaxing, quite and full of adventure.
