Laura and Michael at the Beverly Hills Hotel

Laura and Michael met in their freshman year at The University of Arizona and have been together ever since. After graduating, Laura returned to California, where she grew up and Michael moved to New York. They maintained a long distance relationship for two years because they had known from the moment they met they would eventually get married; and Michael moved to California to be with the love of his life.

On December 20th, 2009, seven years later, Michael popped the question on a Sunday evening right before Christmas, in the couple’s West Hollywood apartment. Laura had just returned from the spa and was relaxing on the couch, talking to her mother on the phone. As she hung up the phone, Michael came into the room and moved the ottoman from her feet so he could get down on one knee to propose. It was a very emotional moment and Laura didn’t even put the ring on her finger until after they’d embraced for about five minutes.

Laura is a traditionalist who has always admired the regal style of fashion icons Princess Grace and Jackie O. She wanted her wedding to reflect an understated elegance; a timeless look she could look back on in 30 years and still admire. It couldn’t be trendy or contemporary, only classic and romantic would do. Youngsong Martin, of Wildflower Linen drew inspiration from Grace Kelly's regal style and designed a gorgeous custom linen just for our bride! She even named it "The Laura!" Thank you Youngsong!

Laura and Michael were married on November 6th, 2010, which is an incredibly cherished day because it’s also Laura’s parent’s anniversary. They were married at the Beverly Hills Hotel, which also held a special place in Laura’s heart because it was where her father stayed when he came to visit. Laura and Michael had fallen in love with the Beverly Hills Hotel for it’s charm, warmth, lived-in beauty and it’s magical history.

The week leading up to Laura and Michael’s wedding day was uncharacteristically warm for L.A., reaching highs in the 90’s during the day. However, the morning of the wedding, a cold front came in, and a high chance of rain was predicted to begin at 4:00, which just happened to be the exact starting time of the ceremony! But just as Laura was about to walk down the aisle, it was as if a miracle occurred! The sun came out and all of a sudden we had clear blue skies! Laura walked down the aisle to marry the love of her life and it didn’t rain at all that night!
